I am a Contemporary Christian Singer,and Songwriter/lyracist. I have been singing ever since I was a small child. It wasn't until the last 2 years that I decided that I was going to follow my heart, and sing. So far the Journey has been awesome, and you are free to join the ride.
Why this name?
Charity Angel is my real first and middle name,and the name of my website.
My mother told me once that I came to her in a dream before I was born and told her that this was my name, and that it was to remind me of my life's mission. An angel is a messenger, and Charity is the greatest love. I have thought about this story for most of my younger years, and pondered what it was that I was to do. Recently I realized There is no better way, for me, to share my message of love then through song.
Do you play live?
I sing live along with background cd's that I have had made in the studio when I perform. I do not have a band, and I play very little piano.
My most recent special moment was performing in front of an audience of 60,000 as a Top 40 Ozarks Idol, being filmed for TV and all that stuff, it was awesome! I do not think that I will ever see audiences the same. To see a sea of people rush towards you is an unforgettable memory.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that it makes it possible to level the playing field for all artists. Getting music heard is always a good thing!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would have to be a very good contract. I enjoy my freedom currently with being an Indie Artist. I like setting my own schedules, and still being able to enjoy my family life.
Band History:
I started on this path long ago. I sang in church so many times I can not even number it. Eventually tho, I had a few friends tell me that I should go for American Idol. At the time I was over the age limit (the rules have changed now) and so I was thinking what can I do similar? So I found a little competition in Branson, Mo and I won! That was enough to get me seriously thinking about it. I determined that I was going to do a WHOLE lot of research, and plan out a path to making an album, which was a lifelong dream. (Ever since I wrote my first song at 12 called "Sitting Here looking out the window") As I pursued my music, I performed for other churches, joined another churches praise team, where the pastor there said I should create my own group to go and perform at all the area churches. I thought about that, and it encouraged me to make that Album; that and the fact everywhere I sang people would ask me if I had one. So, I searched and searched for the right studio for me, found it, and now I have "Only Prayers Away"
Your influences?
I have several influences as far as music goes. I have listened to everything from Poison, Def Leppard and Whitesnake, to church hymns and classical songs. I would have to say that my biggest influences tho are Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Shania Twain,Leanne Rimes, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Debbie Gibson,Amy Grant, Mercy Me a little Madonna, and Charolette Church. Wonder what that would create? LOL just take a listen.
Favorite spot?
My Favorite spot is being in the woods, or mountains near a stream or lake. Running water and nature inspire me, I feel like I am closer to God somehow.
Anything else...?
The greatest purpose for my music is you. I just want you to hear it, enjoy it, and feel it. Making money, sure that is great, but for me, it is the message, and I would love to hear what you think about it. Hear more then there is listed here at my official website www.CharityAngel.com |
